So I made a move...

As of Monday, June 22nd I became an official resident of Ft. Worth, TX! This is the first time I've ever moved away from Abilene, crazy I know. I felt like a college student moving off for the first time, haha. Its taking me a while (and will take a while) for me to get used to all these new changes...not knowing where I'm going all the time is annoying. Living in Abilene for 23 years, I could tell you 5 ways to get to one place...and now I'm having to "Tom-Tom" and google map everything! Although I think I will enjoy it once I get out and "explore" and figure out where things are and how to deal with traffic. Haha. All you Dallas residents can relate. Ft. Worth isn't as bad though.

As far as job searching goes, I have a phone interview with EBS this coming Monday as well as contacting Ft. Worth ISD with some available positions open thanks to Dr. Austin. I'm also meeting with Britni's supervisor on Wed. for an available LTAC position at a nursing home in downtown Ft. Worth.

Things are looking up for me. At the beginning of the week I wasn't so sure I made the right decision by leaving. I left my hometown, my friends, most of my extended family, my dance home and I wasn't getting any luck with job offers. I finally stopped being stubborn and am now allowing God to place me where is best for me...and it may not necessarily be where I want to be. Thank you Jason for your kind words....I actually do listen to your advice, but may not always take it :)

Speaking of my Jason, he got promoted just recently while he is in Korea. I'm so proud of him. He's such a hard worker and even though his co-workers may not see the fruit of his labor, God will definitely reward his good works! I love you sweetheart, we can do this!! :) I'm ready for next August!!

Speaking of wedding planning...I'm ready to get the ball rolling...but the downside is, I def need a paycheck coming in...haha, it won't be too long though. If I take a school position, I'll be seeing that first paycheck beg. of Sept! I'm ready to start looking for wedding venues, caterers, etc...never thought I'd be much of a girly-girl wedding planner, but thanks to Lindsay I am now! Haha. Its fun...

Lastly, I'm going to make the big plunge and drive to Dallas next week to tryout some dance classes at Dallas Powerhouse. I'm scared of the drive, cause I don't know how to get there, haha, but I'm excited about new opportunities. I'm auditioning for the Dallas Mavericks Dance Team again in July as well...just for fun and a learning experience if not anything!

I think that's about it for now....gotta figure out what characteristics and qualities I bring to the workplace for the phone interview on Monday, haha. I hate selling myself.....oooh that sounded bad....well, you know what I mean....market myself! :)

Schools out for summer....wait, for GOOD!

Since my life has taken a drastic change this semester, I decided to start a blog! This past semester I finished my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology at ACU in Abilene. I also finished up a wonderful 20 years at Dance Discovery and with Chameleon Performing Arts Co. and Core Hip Hop Co. Not to mention...I got ENGAGED on March 28, 2009 after my last performance with Chameleon, which both were memorable. My wonderful fiance, Jason Knight, has been in South Korea for 3 weeks with the U.S. Army. He will be there until May 2010. I miss him so much everyday, yet my love continues to grow for him. We will be tying the knot on August 21, 2010 in Dallas, TX. Currently, I am in the process of moving to Ft. Worth with my parents for a while until I find a job in the Dallas area and then I will be rooming with Brooke Johnson, a friend of mine from grad school. We're looking for a job and a place somewhere in the Addison/Richardson/Plano area. I'm so excited, my first roommate, haha! That is my life thus far... :)
